IMO none of the winning entries were all that great. But, I guess it'll be fine since the honorable mentions will be in as well.

The doll reminds me too much of Lulu from FFIX.

I wouldn't be surprised if the curvy blade weapon is for the assassin.

I wish anet would honor like the winners by giving them a perfect 15% always req 7 version of the weapon they designed u know so the people who designed the winning entries wouldnt be like "oh great everyoen has _a perfect version of the weapon i designed_ but me, wow that sucks"

Well just some food for thoguht for the winners.

Because they are relevant. Sheilds and off-hands are normally used in conjunction with offensive items.

Anyway...

I don't like any of the winners. They look generic execpt the bow, it looks different but it doesn't do anything for me. Hell, the swords on the first two pages on this thread should have been included.

BUT they did say that a modest number of honorable mentions were to be included. Maybe I'll like one of them.

I think that the weapon designs were really creative and worth the recognition. THe Axe, hammer, bow and shield are really the cream of the crop though if you ask me.

Very nice ideas. Cant wait to see the honorable mentions

The bow and the shield are the clear standouts of even the winners. They are awesome.

yea but it's not like it would affect game balance any and I doubt they would sell the perfect representation of the very item they designed

i tend to agree with that idea...unless someone can come up with a reason why it would be bad for the GW community

is it just me or does that bow look like the Korean/Japan coke item thingy... for the shield i wish the wings were inside the bounderies of the shield instead of sticking out...looks > form/real function wins again in fantasy

but there's no need to flame me about this being a game...I get it...it doesn't have to, just a personal peve...that's all I'm saying

The Korean and Japanese bows were twinned scorpion tails. The Taiwanese bow had feathered wings. Similar, not not really.

I love the Hammer. The style of the art is sort of bland but the design in-itself is very clever. I also like the shield, but as for the rest, I hate to sound bigheaded but I preferred my own designs over them.
